Veterans for Life Silver Dollar

Per recent mailing from mint:

2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollar

26.73 grams
1.5 inches
90% silver 10% copper
350,000 mintage
Proof $39.95 after 3/29/10 $43.95
Unc. $33.95 after 3/29/10 $35.95

I wanted to point out the dollar is not 100% silver and not a full ounce of silver. But the price is around full pricing. ($10.00 from each sale goes to ....Veterans.....memorial in Wash D.C.)

Anyone think it is a little expensive?

Funny how like Rome from the late 200s A.D. - even our precious metal coins are getting less and less in weight.

I noticed the same thing because a troy ounce is really close to 31.5 grams.

Thanks for posting and reminding me.

IN Commemoratives if you study the history have a LOT of BOMBS where they did not sell too well. However, they are different then collecting ASE one same-o same-o same-o consectutive year after another, right?

I suggest IMHVO grabbing all you can real cheap in MS & PF 69s if they are REALLY low priced throughout the modern series years 1982 to NOW! :yippee:

Like RossL pointed out, these commemorative silver dollars are not silver american eagle bullion coins, they are silver dollars with the same weight and purity as the old ones, which is .77344 troy ounce of silver. Also, one troy ounce is 31.1 grams. :ok:
